In August, the weekend supplement of de Volkskrant featured an extensive interview with Jos Bosch, project leader of the NMCB. In this article, he discusses the importance of biomedical research into the causes of ME/CFS and the decisive role of patient organizations.
Thanks to their many years of dedication, there is now a large, multi-year research program on ME/CFS, supported by ZonMw. The NMCB is part of this program.
Within our consortium, intensive research is being conducted into the causes of ME/CFS and other post-infectious conditions, such as post-COVID. All Dutch University Medical Centers are collaborating in this effort, with the goal of improving diagnostics and developing effective treatments.
